The Daily Tar Heel (UNC-CH)

• The Daily Tar Heel (DTH) has a published index available in the JoMC Library. Coverage dates from 1970 to the present. Bound copies of the campus newspaper are located in the North Carolina Collection in Wilson Library.

• August 1, 1990–1999 (current three months delayed) on CD-ROM in the Undergrad Library On line Reference Department, 1^st floor. Full-text articles. Searchable by name, subject, date and more. Print or download to disk.
• August 1, 1990 to the present at:  http://archives.newsbank.com/newsobserver . Searching and citations are free, although there is a charge to retrieve full-text articles. Includes the Chapel Hill News from January 2000.

From the menu, select "Library," then locate the pop-up box (next to "Change Publications"), click on it and select "North Carolina News." Scroll down until you locate "Herald-Sun, The" and click on "Search this Title."  On the next screen, click on "Sources" and select "Herald-Sun, paste this title." Now you are ready to search the Herald-Sun. 
• January 1982–February 1990 in the Herald-Sun Newspaper Index. Citations only. Searchable by subject and name thesaurus. Citations offer headline, date, newspaper, and codes for type of article, graphics and bylines. To obtain full-text of the desired articles, students must go to Davis Library's Microforms Department and request the Herald-Sun microfilm. Prints of microfilmed articles may be made for a small fee. 
• September 1, 1994 –the present in NEXIS. Library: news; File: hldsun. Search on key words or phrases and in segments such as headline, lead graph, byline and subject. NEXIS terminal is in library. Students must download to disk or copy and paste retrieved articles into a MSWord document in order to print. The automatic print command is not operational. .
