The prime directive of The Park Library (CA 265-271) is to support the School's
educational, research, and professional outreach mission. The Park Library's
mission is:
- To select, acquire, catalog, store, and manage materials (current and historic, in print, digital,
and multimedia formats) appropriate for journalism and media instruction and research in a comprehensive, current, accessible, economical,
and secure manner.
- To offer suitable space equipped equipped with state-of-the-art
technology for the use of these collections and information services.
- To serve as a teaching and research facility for journalism and mass
communication students on campus as well as remote locations.
- To promote the School's professional values, ethics, and competencies
in the Park Library's collections, exhibits, and services.
- To serve as a model for demonstrating modern news library principles,
practices, and state-of-the-art information storage and retrieval resources to
journalism educators and librarians, media administrators, editors and reporters,
visual communicators, as well as to broadcast journalists, and online reporters.
